We recorded the newscasters' voice and added it to the films we made.

The NEWS REAL project.

The Hotwires, along with some budding actors from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 took part in a project to make old fashioned News Reels. The scheme is through Tyneside Cinema which will be re-opening soon after an extensive refurbishment.

The children worked in four groups and learned about the roles of a film crew, camera angles and News Reels. They wrote scripts, brought in costumes, filmed AND edited their work to produce four fantastic pieces of film. The finished film will be shown at Tyneside cinema in September.

We learned about professional cameras and how to operate them.

The computer sofware we used was great!

We used some really cool editing software to get our Films just right.

We connected the cameras to laptops to transfer the pictures and sound for editing.
